2022 NBA Mock Draft 3

This is my final mock draft for the NBA Draft of 2022.  The picks are determined as an aggregate of several mock drafts with fit taken into consideration; they are not who I would draft in each particular situation.  While I previously focused on the fit of the player with the team, I am focusing more on player/pick movement in this post.  Unlike the previous mocks, there is no commentary on second round picks.  As a bonus, I also included my favorite players in this draft.   1:   Orlando Magic – Jabari Smith Auburn, PF, Freshman, 19, 6’10, 210 lbs. Comparison:   Maybe Rashard Lewis with better defense and some Jaren Jackson and Klay Thompson? Previously Projected:   1 Orlando will more than likely draft Smith due to his size, defense, shooting, and floor, though there is a chance they could draft Chet Holmgren.   2:   Oklahoma City Thunder – Chet Holmgren Gonzaga, C/PF, Freshman, 20, 7’0, 195 lbs. 2022 NBA Finals Game 6 Observations

For each game during the Finals, I took notes of random things I observed or thought throughout the game and will post it either the day of or day after each game.  These are my notes regarding Game 6, which the Warriors won 103-90 to win the series 4-2.     Quarter 1 ·          I don’t love the Warriors’ small ball starting lineup since it will likely be susceptible to points in the paint early ·          That was a quick foul early against Thompson; I wonder if we’ll see favorable calls for one team to push the series to 7 ·          I love Marcus Smart posting up against Curry; while I wouldn’t consider Curry a horrible defender, he’s no match against Boston’s size ·          Already Thompson has 2 fouls; that’s not a good sign for Golden State ·          Draymond has ...

2022 NBA Finals Game 5 Observations

For each game during the Finals, I will take notes of random things I observed or thought throughout the game and will post it either the day of or day after each game.  These are my notes regarding Game 5, which the Warriors won 104-94 after the Celtics’ offense decided to stop trying what was working.     Quarter 1 ·          Golden State is starting the same small ball lineup starting and I don’t like it.   While I have heard multiple suggest that’s to limit Looney’s minutes, I’d prefer to start Looney over Green for like 4 minutes to offset the disadvantage in the paint (not that it would ever happen) ·          Already the Celtics have 2 quick sloppy turnovers.   Not a good start ·          Everyone will talk about how the small ball lineup for Golden State was able to get them off to this fast lead, but I think the bigger story is t...
