This is my list of the top 100 players this NBA season.  My predictions are based on how I think each player will play, how much playing they will get, and contribute to winning.  I included 3 additional players depending on if Kyrie Irving (unvaccinated in required market), Ben Simmons (odd holdout situation), and Klay Thompson (injury) play.

My 2025 NBA Draft Unofficial Big Board

Every year, I have my Unofficial Big Board, and I decided to release the first round of it!  I also wrote a couple sentences about each player.  I do not do this full-time, which is why I had been resistant to release many of my past boards, but I thought it would be fun to discuss.  While I consider a combination of what they’ve shown, analytics, and how they play, the most important part of how I view players is how I project they will be in the NBA, which is what this is all about.  I also included descriptions of why I’m lower on 5 guys who I have being first round picks.   1:   Cooper Flagg Duke, Fr, 18, SF/PF, 6’7.75, 221 lbs., 7’0 Wing He has the highest floor and ceiling in this class.   If it works out, he will be a star in the league, though I still think he will develop into an amazing defender if his offense doesn’t translate to the NBA. 2:   Dylan Harper Rutgers, Fr, PG/SG, 6’4.5, 213.2 lbs., 6’10.5 Wing I’m a sucker for...

The WNBA’s Disappointing Response to an NSFW Issue

This post is a part of WNBA Week+.  During this stretch, I will release several blog posts related to the WNBA, including news stories, player discussions, and teams’ seasons.   Due to timing and how many other things have gone on in basketball, I have not written anywhere near enough about the WNBA.   There have been a lot of good things that have happened this year, including the games themselves, a fun All-Star Weekend (the game was what it was due to injuries, but the events and selections were awesome), an interesting CBA negotiations (as a brief clarification, the issue comes down to the revenue sharing, as the most recent CBA had the players getting 9% of revenue, which is tiny even compared to UFC, which has a reputation for not paying their athletes), and an exciting playoff race, especially starting with the two-seed.   That said, there are also several negative aspects, most notably the injuries, continued sexist rhetoric, and the league’s continued po...
